There are various causes of hairfall.-

Hormonal changes. Hormonal changes and imbalances - temporary hair loss.

Patchy hair loss- Immunological alteration

Scalp infections. -Fungal infections

Permanent loss - Scarring alopecia in lichen planus,lupus and sarcoidosis.

Hair-pulling disorder- trichotillomania

Medications
- Hormonal contraceptive
- Cancer Chemotherapy

- Radiation therapy to the head.

- A trigger event- Stress including sudden or excessive weight loss, a high fever, surgery, or a death in the family.

-Certain hairstyles and treatments.

-Excessive hairstyling -traction alopecia

- Hot oil hair treatments
