Why do I get headaches?

Open 1 Answers 331 Views Your Health Queries

I suddenly started getting headaches almost 3 years ago. I've seen my GP multiple times over it and have been prescribed different medicines. None have really worked until now which is Pizotifen. This prevents me getting them randomly, I only get headaches now when I touch the area that it's contained in. It's only on the right side of my head. It's not a throbbing pain, more like a tender pain. I do not have any other symptoms e.g. vomiting, dizziness, confusion. My GP thinks it's a rare type of migraine. Is there any chance that it could be anything else? (more serious) I'm female and 16 years old.

Pizotifen is primarily used as a preventative to reduce the frequency of recurrent migraine headaches. Since, this drug works for you - it is probable that your GP is right.
